  • Dunbarton Umbagog Bundle

    $82.88$93.08

If you’ve read my “Bundles of Joy” article posted in the ASK RICHIE section of this website, you know how most cigar makers increased the amount of bundled value brands they offer to budget conscious smokers. Umbagog, named for Dunbarton’s owner’s favorite New Hampshire lake, doesn’t quite fall into this category. While the cigars are wrapped in paper and priced considerably lower than their other entries, they’re definitely not bargain smokes. What they are is another great medium to full bodied edition that is well made like the others offering a more straightforward taste. Natural tobacco, black licorice and some peppery spices appears early on and remain throughout.

    Filler – Nicaragua

    Binder – Nicaragua

  • Davidoff Escurio

The flavor notes of pepper, chocolate, licorice, and coffee are exceptional. No doubt this is a smooth, slow burning  smoke from start to finish.

    Need more proof? CIGAR COOP – 93, CIGAR AUTHORITY – 94, BLIND MAN’S PUFF – 93

Needless to say, if you consider yourself a connoisseur of truly boutique blends, the Escurio is a must try.

    CAO Classic: Gold

    $83.21$176.22

CAO Classic: Gold is the first cigar this legendary company created.

In the height of the “Cigar Boom’ of the 90’s, CAO added this line of cigars to their offerings. Until then, they were known for pipes, humidors and other smoking accessories. When this cigar hit the streets, Cigar Aficionado’s review then still holds true today. “A silky, smooth wrapper on a well-made medium bodied cigar. It is earthy, with wood and sweet spice notes.” Oddly enough, in 2109 they rated this blend a score of 91. No doubt the CAO Gold was a winner then and is still pleasing smokers today.

  • Alec Bradley Kintsugi

    $167.40$226.80

Alec Bradley Kintsugi is the third creation from the company founder’s sons, Alec and Bradley Rubin.

With attention to detail, this collaboration between these talented young men and the Raíces Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras produces an outstanding cigar. Kintsugi follows Blind Faith from 2018 and Gatekeeper from 2019. All things considered, at this point, it’s safe to say these guys are well on their way to becoming Master Blenders.

Out of all the accolades, Blind Man’s Puff describes it best. “After initial inspection I wasn’t sure what to expect, however, this cigar smoked fantastically and produced delicious flavors. From pre-light draw to last puff, the cigar performed above expectations and had great smoke output. Not exactly my cup of tea as it was a little sweeter than I prefer, but I would gladly smoke another. Fantastic smoke if you have under an hour. Nub was the best part. Puff slowly and enjoy the end my friends.”  These words coupled with a score of 91 make Kintsugi another winner for sure!

  • Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary

    $122.85$269.10

No one disputes that Rocky Patel is one of the few Titans of the Premium Cigar Industry. Over 20 years ago as he began his quest to get a foothold in the marketplace he actually got in his car and traveled the country visiting high volume Tobacconists unannounced! When he wound up in my store to sell his first entry, I hesitantly took a chance on him. Actually, he was such a nice and appreciative person I couldn’t resist! The rest is cigar history! One of the keys to Rocky’s success over the years is the number of choices he continues to create for all of us to enjoy.

When this edition launched in 2010, shortly after it was awarded the #6 Best Cigar of 2011. Then in 2018 it garnered another top 25 placement. All along the way getting 90+ ratings year after year. This still amazing medium-full bodied stick is jammed packed with tobacco yielding a slow, smooth burn that increases in intensity as you move along. If you’re a fan of Rocky’s stuff you’ve tried it. If you’re not, you will be after trying it! Enough said!

CAO Classic: Gold Maduro is the long awaited follow up to the original Gold entry.

It took about ten years for CAO to come up with this darkly wrapped counterpart to their legendary gold line. Cigar Aficionado had kind words in 2007 for this flavorful and medium bodied maduro, as well. “Near black, this cigar has a solid core of sweet tobacco, complemented by nuts, coffee and a hint of leather on the finish.” It goes to show you that after 15 years, this cigar is still a winner!

If you liked the original Gold, you’ll love this maduro!

  • Caldwell The Last Tsar

    $124.20$142.20

You really are a connoisseur if you’ve searched for this amazing cigar!

As you cruise our site you’ll come upon many small batch brands. As many of these newcomers came and went, Caldwell rose above the herd. But you know this because you landed at this cigar! Yes, you read correctly. The fillers and binder tobaccos are a closely held secret. What you may not know is that there were only 500 boxes of these made.

Robert Caldwell describes his wonderful creation best, “This is one you have to smoke to appreciate. It is balanced, nuanced and subtle. Then out of nowhere, it sucker punches you in the chin. Packed with nicotine, Tsar will melt you into the chair. This is the go-to when you have time to kill and a table to put your feet on. ”

With attention to detail, Prensado is made at the superb Raices Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras. When Cigar Aficionado gave it an astounding 96 rating, cigar smokers throughout the entire world took serious notice.  Their review says it all. “This is as gorgeous a cigar as you’ll ever see, with a picture-perfect head and a stunning wrapper. But it is the flavor that makes it a classic smoke. The Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos come together to create leather, chocolate and spice notes, and a long, lush finish.”
