As a cigar aficionado, and someone who also works in the biz, this sampler is an ABSOLUTE no brainer. First off, consider yourself lucky if you can even get your hands on half of the cigars in this package at any price, none-the-less a price such as this which is $30+ under MSRP. Ok..now let’s go to the roll call. LFD 25th Anniversary: my least favorite in the pack, yet still it’s an excellent cigar for anyone seeking a more mild to medium experience. TAA 50th Anniversary #1 & #2: Here’s where you start to see the value of this package. Both of these cigars have been reviewed & rated by the entire field, and in nearly EVERY case, they’ve scored top marks (93+). Personally, I prefer the darker of the two, but for the strength that the torpedo lacks, it surely makes up for it with excellent flavor. LFD La Nox: Possibly the most overlooked & severely underrated cigar on the market today. Hell, there’s a brand called Drew Estate who made a serious name for themselves just by pushing out a whole line of these sticks & calling them Liga Privada. Full bodied, spicy, yet with a slightly sweet finish all bursting out of this Brazilian Maduro wrapped beauty with Nic & Dom filler on the inside. This stick, the LFD 25th plus the two TAA’s would be more than enough at this price, but wait.. we’re forgetting someone! LGSB#7: You know, I’ve met a ton of die hard smokers who smoke all day, everyday & even plenty more who tend to stick to LFD, and what surprises me about all that is how many people have never seen or heard of this cigar..AND THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY’RE MISSING. Litto Gomez Small Batch #7 (or technically #8). In either case, this is bar-none, one of the finest sticks out there. A Dominican Puro, sourced from some the finest fields within the country (literally the same region as Opus X & Davidoff’s top offerings), right besides the home of LFD’s owner, Litto Gomez. Call it a side project, as Gomez grows, blends, rolls & releases between (roughly) 12,000-25,000 sticks a year, all in 100 count boxes for one giant release. After that, the rest of the year is dedicated to searching for it. Simply out, this stick alone is worth the price of this sampler, and while (if you look it up) you will find that the MSRP is usually somewhere around $25, however what you won’t find out is how
amazing this cigar actually is. On the surface, superficially, it’s a beautiful cigar, however at it’s core this is one gigantic masterpiece. Full-bodied, yet so smooth, it reeks of well-aged, long-lived tobacco that has been grown & cultivated by a true master of the art of cigar making. Flawlessly rolled, and with incredible flavor sourced via Gomez’ blending in of the rarely seen (and often banned) tobacco, Pelo de Oro. Infamous for being hard to grow, overly succeptible to disease & known for producing a lower yield than most strains of tobacco, Pelo de Oro (banned in Cuba) produces a one-of-kind strong, but slightly sweet flavorful smoke. This contributes nicely to what is overall one of the best made sticks around. Take my word, BUY THIS SAMPLER NOW!
