J.C. Newman
Founded in 1895 by Julius Caesar Newman, J.C. Newman is the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker in America. For four generations and over 125 years they have been handcrafting many of the world’s finest cigars. The company is headquartered in an iconic 110 year old factory in the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District in Tampa, Florida. At this factory, known as “El Reloj”, J.C. Newman rolls premium cigars by hand and by hand-operated, antique cigar machines.
The J.C. Newman PENSA cigar factory is the second largest in Nicaragua and is where Brick House, Perla Del Mar and Quorum cigars are hand rolled. The coveted Diamond Crown, Maximus and Julius Caesar brands are produced by Arturo Fuente’s Tabacalera A. Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic.

Factory Throwouts
Rated 4.00 out of 5$32.99 – $41.99What most people don't know is that these value priced sticks are produced in the Florida by J.C. Newman, the folks that bring us some of the best Super Premiums available like Julius Caesar, Diamond Crown and Brick House. Believe it or not, more than pretty good tobaccos are utilized here in a short filler machine made form. What that means is instead of containing long leaves for fillers and binder, the contents is made up of all other leaf parts that havent been used in hand made premiums. They're all encased in different shades of really nice sungrown Ecuadorian wrappers in a variety of 3 sizes and styles. While their appearance is not perfect, each one is mild-mellow in taste with its own character. The 59 Sweet Lonsdale has always been my pick of a short pleasant smoke for a whopping $1.65 price tag. The wrapper is grown on Oliva's Ecuadorian farm. The cigars are then aged in Spanish Cedar lined cabinets. The result is a stick with a medium to full bodied taste as rich as it's heritage.
