Romeo y Julieta Romeo San Andres is another collaboration between Altadis’ Rafael Nodal and Master Blender AJ Fernandez in 2018.
Reaching out to A. J. Fernandez to create a Cuban style, medium to full flavored edition for the RJ collection results in a very unique cigar for this iconic company. With attention to detail, Fernandez and Nodal put together a complex blend for seasoned smokers. With this in mind, Cigar Coop rates it a respectable 90 along with Blind Man’s Puff’s score of 91. Cigar Aficionado’s description in spot on. “A near-black cigar topped with a round head. The earthy, nutty smoke shows additional notes of coffee and anise before a strong finish of dark roasted coffee.”

This very limited edition Eternal is another collaboration between the Plasencias and Rafael Nodal, head of product capability at Tabacalera USA. With attention to detail, this Nicaraguan puro incorporates tobacco leaf from the Plasencia farms in all the major growing regions of Nicaragua: Jalapa, Condega, Estelí and Ometepe. In fact, the stunning caramel-toned wrapper has been double fermented and aged for 26 months.
Eternal’s high ratings and industry accolades are no surprise here. Stogie Press at 91 and Katman at 95 is just for starters. Get ’em when we have ’em!

Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Twisted is a truly unique edition from this iconic company.
With attention to detail, the Twisted contains a vintage three country blend. The twisted name comes from the fact that the cigar uses two wrappers in a barber pole fashion. One is a Connecticut seed shade and the other a habano. Both are Ecuadorian. Underneath is a Nicaraguan binder over filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
With this in mind, these cigars offer a wide open draw yielding heaps of aromatic smoke and naturally sweet tobacco taste with subtle peppery spices. Without doubt, this is very complexly tasting cigar for sure! Cigar Coop thinks very highly of this very special Romeo. They describe it perfectly. “This cigar does a nice job building on the foundational elements of the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real. Romeo y Julieta Romeo 505 Nicaragua is another fantastic collaboration between Altadis and Plasencia Tobacco S.A.
With attention to detail the 505 Nicaragua contains tobaccos from three of Nicaragua’s well-known growing regions, including a Habano seed wrapper and binder from Jalapa and a mix of fillers from Jalapa, Estelí and Condega. The result is an exceptionally good medium to full bodied smoking experience.
Noted reviewer KATMAN rates it at 92. His description of this flavor bomb is spot on. ” The most heartfelt flavors are malt, chocolate, creaminess, espresso, caramel, smokiness, baking spices, and black pepper creating a beautiful flow chart of indescribable complexity.”

Unlike most Romeo y Julieta cigars, this one’s blend of selected tobaccos yields a robust, balanced truly full bodied taste. With attention to detail, Romeo contains a dark, oily Ecuadoran Habano seed wrapper around a potent Dominican blend.
It’s no surprise Cigar Aficionado rates this jewel an astounding 94. In fact, this Romeo beats out much of it’s Cuban competitors.
