While this blend upped the flavor to the medium bodied level it remained smooth and balanced with just a hint of spice to liven up your palate. The 92 rated Porto Real is one of my favorites.

This edition is a great example of why the Romeo brand retains its top spot in the industry. As this iconic brand has evolved, Altadis has continued to expand offerings to appeal to more and more cigar lovers. This Nicaraguan puro was a surprise on many fronts. The lighter colored oily wrapper combined with the binder and fillers produced a medium bodied stick possessing nice bits of sweetness and spice without being overpowering.

Now I know you’re a serious shopper if you’re looking at this amazing cigar. In 2003, Altadis reached out to Master Blender Jose Seijas who’s been immersed in the industry for over 40 years. His skillful multi country blend of long fillers encased in a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra seed wrapper produced an amazingly complex, smooth medium bodied cigar. While this edition took a while to get passed around, it’s eventual 92 rating was a testament of Seijas’ ability to give Romeo smokers a truly great experience.

Combining traditional Dominican leaves that the brand is known for with A.J.’s personally selected Nicaraguan long fillers, then encassing it with a vintage Mexican San Andreas wrapper. The result is not your Father’s Romeo! This is a robust, strong cigar that gains intensity along the way. Buckle up!
