Casa Fernandez Miami Reserva Corojo
$45.00 – $155.25When you consider the vast array of entries this iconic company offers, it can become pleasantly difficult deciphering what sets each one apart from another. This Miami Reserva edition stands out in that what’s known as Medio Tiempo leaves are added to the fillers. These smallest leaves located at the very top of the plant contain the highest concentration of oil. Hence, they noticeably enhance the entire flavor spectrum of the cigar’s character. I’ve often said that taste is a personal preference. What I can say is this is a crispy, solidly medium to full bodied stick with very defined undertones of sweetness, spice and fruit. Back 2 Back Nicaragua
$71.10 – $355.50The “Back2Back” brand was launched by Davidoff in 2018 as a fairly priced “Meat and Potatoes” smoke. My only issue with the company was only offering them in huge boxes of 50 sticks. This dark and oily Nicaraguan puro is a smooth, flavorful medium bodied cigar. This well made stick is balanced and consistent with pleasant notes of coffee and spices. While the overall taste increases slightly in intensity as you move along, it remains balanced and enjoyable to the finish.

In short, they’re well made mild to slightly medium-bodied cigars with a pleasant complexity. Even the enormous Gordo remains consistent with its smaller siblings yielding a slight sweetness and balanced, mellow smoothness. If you enjoy tamer tasting cigars, this is a good one to try. Foundation The Upsetters
$135.90 – $243.90Foundation owner Nick Melillo traveled to the island of Jamaica in 2015 to have some fun along with searching for the country’s rarely used tobacco. He soon located one of the oldest farms growing and processing leaves utilizing traditional methods that have been employed for over a thousand years. He then put his mad scientist hat on and combined his Master Blender skills by applying what he calls “Caribbean atmospheric herbal fusion.” The short version of this is that the combination of this process with coveted Jamaican and vintage Nicaraguan leaves produced a series of cigars ranging from mild and smooth to medium-full bodied and beyond. Yes, they’re totally different and have become pleasant diversions for experienced smokers as well as newcomers.

Tatuaje Miami
$169.99 – $337.50This cigar is probably one of the best examples of Just how smart Founder Robert Johnson is. The Miami edition represents some of the best Master Blending skills that famed cigar maker Don Pepin Garcia offers. We’ve often heard about “Cuban Seed” tobacco. As good as that crop generally is, as the seeds continue to get replicated, they lose some of their original growing traits. Rarely are first generation seeds of this calibre found and used and that’s exactly what has made this stick so highly coveted. Yes, this is a medium-full bodied smoke that’s uniquely complex as we’ve come to expect from Tatuaje. But this one offers an unduplicated taste that stands alone. Get them when we have them. They’re worth more than they cost. Enjoy…BIG TIME!

Tatuaje Avion

Johnson himself has also evolved from an unknown newcomer to visionary and respected industry entrepreneur.
An important thing to know is that the Avion was blended in its entirety by Johnson himself. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since this gem came to market. Many feel this is Pete’s signature smoke. While we know the selected vintage blend of fillers and binder are the exact ones contained in his Fausto brand, the creative use of a rare, nearly black USA grown Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper produces a very unique stick. This box pressed, old school perfecto is a solidly medium bodied smoke that gains a smooth intensity as it moves along. But make no mistake, this is a bold, rich and dense cigar.Origin – Nicaragua

This edition came on the scene back in 2011 and received deservedly high ratings culminating in being awarded one of the top cigars of 2018 with 93 points. Factory Throwouts
$33.48 – $41.76What most people don’t know is that these value priced sticks are produced in the Florida by J.C. Newman, the folks that bring us some of the best Super Premiums available like Julius Caesar, Diamond Crown and Brick House. Believe it or not, more than pretty good tobaccos are utilized here in a short filler machine made form. What that means is instead of containing long leaves for fillers and binder, the contents is made up of all other leaf parts that haven’t been used in hand made premiums. They’re all encased in different shades of really nice Sungrown Ecuadorian wrappers in a variety of 3 sizes and styles. While their appearance is not perfect, each one is mild-mellow in taste with its own character. The 59 Sweet 6×45 has always been my pick of a short pleasant smoke for a whopping $1.65 price tag.

Rocky Patel Vintage 2003 Cameroon (8y)

When the 20th Anniversary line was launched, all editions were highly rated first-class sticks. This Maduro edition is hard to describe. Some folks say it’s totally full-bodied while others claim its medium to full-bodied. Oliva Serie G
$74.83 – $254.81This great brand traces its roots back to 1886 when Melanio Oliva began growing tobacco in Cuba. After the revolution, his grandson Gilberto went to Spain and then settled in Nicaragua. In 1995 Gilberto and his son Gilberto Jr. launched the company.
The 90 rated, box-pressed, Serie G came on the scene in 2007. Cameroon wrapped cigars are among my favorite. Box press them and you’ve won my heart! Oliva’s proprietary blend of Nicaraguan fillers with a vintage Cuban seed grown Habano binder produces a rich, well rounded medium-bodied cigar without any hint of harshness. Many feel that this cigar remains one of the company’s finest to this day. If you’ve had them, you know. If you haven’t tried them, I urge you to grab a five-pack. Macanudo Inspirado Orange
$50.99 – $133.69Macanudo Inspirado Orange is the first of the company’s hugely successful boutique entries.
With that being said, the Inspirado Orange line started out as a European exclusive, but eventually made its way to the United States in 2018. Since then, Inspirado Orange has earned countless awards and solidified its spot as a humidor must-have worldwide.
Unlike the traditional Cafe series, this style was more medium bodied with a smooth character and more moderate price. The success of the “Orange” entry led to the additions of Black, Red, White and Green Inspirado brands.
Receiving a 92 rating from Cigar Aficionado caught the eyes of many non Macanudo smokers to say the very least. Their description is spot on. ” Inspirado Orange is simply a great cigar that produces a rich, buttery smoke enriched by leather and mesquite qualities and a bright finish of almonds and black pepper.” Getting a 93 from Blind Man’s Puff backs up the accolades as well. “This was an enjoyable cigar from start to finish.”
If you’ve never tried one of these highly rated cigars, now’s you chance. Any one you choose is a top pick!

Macanudo Inspirado Black
$126.56 – $144.54Macanudo Inspirado Black is one of the company’s four hugely successful boutique Inspirado entries.
Coming off the success of the Inspirado Orange, this Black edition amps up the game across the board. Worth noting is the Black line is not your grandpa’s Macanudo. Crafted by a proprietary and experimental process, General Cigar declares, “Cigar lovers who now see Macanudo in a new light should be prepared to be wowed yet again.” With this in mind by contrast, this Inspirado is more full bodied. With attention to detail, this blend possesses a broadleaf wrapper, Ecuador Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler from Estelí.
So if you’re looking for a great medium to full bodied cigar with character, this Macanudo should fit right in. A standout in the Inspirado line, Inspirado Black delivers full-bodied boldness in an innovative and balanced cigar. In short, Black is a modern interpretation of timeless knowledge and experience, and the proof is evident in each and every puff.
