The Cabinet Selection edition amped up the flavor to a medium bodied smoke retaining the silky smoothness that Ashton is known for. The Dominican fillers used in these great sticks are aged between four and five years along with aging the Connecticut wrapper for a year. This expertly made beauty draws perfectly, burns evenly and delivers more of what the classic series offers. The key word about Julius Caesar is SMOOTH. It’s rich taste is a pleasure to your palate. Many, many folks that smoke only mild cigars have tried them and become converts! This brand launched in 2016 on a very limited edition basis in only its corona size. As with most of Caldwell’s entries, it was well received, pricey and quickly sold out. it’s now generally available in a variety of popular sizes. This stick stays firmly in the medium bodied range and has a slightly sweet and pepperlike complexity that isn’t overpowering. Anejo means old in Spanish and that's my lesson for today! It should mean Old School because this 90+ rated edition is probably the most full bodied, strongest Romeo cigar available. This is one of those "He Man" cigars, that you have to strap yourself in for. Not only does it start off and continue with a great draw, the flavor increases in intensity as you move along. I have to confess that I've never finished one to the band, but it was a wonderful try. Buckle up!
